My anger against Italians is still on and now even higher after my “writing on fashion” teacher called our beloved French Vogue editor in chief CAROLINE Roitfeld. Can you believe it? At my school (IED), students are usually smarter then the teachers, with some exceptions, of course.

So all this intro is to tell you that the August Vogue Française went fierce again and we’re loving it!

Isn’t she something? I sooo wanna be her when I grow up!

My mom, just like most of the powerful women, is a shoe freak. Her closet is not big enough anymore, so now she started using my tiny little free space while I’m gone. Some might say it’s a disease; others, a childhood trauma. Well, the bad thing is that she has a smaller shoe size than mine, so I don’t get to keep any of the old pairs.

Well, that’s to say that it was through her that I found the Brazilian shoe brand Zeferino and fell in love right the way. They explore so well the Brazilian wealth making the details and hand made finishes amazingly, as well as the design. The prices? If you convert to euros, they ended up being really affordable.

Said that, the fun part will certainly be when I start earning in European money and be able to come back to Brazil in vacation for some shopping in “reais”. Impossible not to go crazy with it, right?

I just received the most perfect accessory for my summer holidays, just like Wes Anderson’s but mine is Blue. Isn’t it delicious?

I bet Heidy Klum has the black one*

So tonight I’m off to my hometown, Porto Alegre, to spend the next 15 days in some deserved vacation time.

After that I’m heading to New York City for a one month internship with models.com. Be back to Milan in September.

I’ll try to keep you guys posted with news and pics. Have a great summer you all!

Summer time is upon us and along with the sensuous sense of the warm breezes gently grazing our bare skin, comes the summer scents of a woman via her perfume. A woman can capture one’s attention if she passes by you wearing that perfect summer wardrobe, yet, even if she did not have on the perfect gear, she could take your breath away and leave you wanting more with the perfect scent-sation.

A few perfumes which have captured my attention, in particular, for the summer include:

Emilio Pucci – Vivara

This fragrance is excellent if you are looking for a light and utterly womanly smell. A re-launch of the original 1966 Vivara perfume, this new Vivara leaves you feeling sweet and special. With essences of Italian bergamot and of jasmine, you and any man close to you who catches a whiff will be mentally whisked away together to that dream vacation on the Mediterranean.

-

Mariah Carey – M

We all know that the dynamic Mariah Carey, aka Mimi, is the diva of all divas. And, her perfume, M, is a clear representation of that. With Mimi’s signature butterfly on the cap of the bottle, this scent certainly cannot be overlooked. If you want that glamorous feeling along with unparalleled confidence brought about by captivating essences of gardenia petals, Moroccan incense and Tahitian Tiarre flower, then this is the fragrance for you.

-

Sean John – Unforgivable Woman

Though I must say the name Unforgivable Woman is the silliest name I’ve ever heard of for a perfume, I must admit, Sean John does, at least, have a winner. Thank goodness the beautiful scent can make the horrible name ‘forgivable.’ If you are looking for something that evokes sensuality and mystery all at the same time, this irresistible combination of orange flower, iris and coco de mar will turn you, in anyone’s eyes, into a ‘forgivable woman.’

-

Versace – Versace

Versace is one of the quintessential signs of money and power when it comes to fashion. Why should the Versace signature scent be any different? It’s not! Wearing this perfume would show off any woman’s confidence, strength and allure. With essences of white jasmine, white lilac, lotus flower and cedar, this fragrance screams luxury at its best. To be regal, to be in charge, to be lusted after is to wear Versace.

Hi there!!

I bought the last Gwen Stefani issue some weeks ago and I just sat down to read it, all happy and excited. Well, guess what? I just couldn’t!! My V was all falling apart, page by page. As I was turning, every one of them was coming off the adhesive spine, making it impossible to read. I’m a really a V fan and I buy the magazine every month. This kind of thing never happened. I was wondering if you could send me a new issue so that I can finish my reading. Please, let me know! It’s not like it’s easy for me to buy a new one, I’m a student living in Italy, and the prices here are insane!

Thank you a lot, hope to hear from you soon!

Dear Barbara,

We are sorry that the copy did not hold up. We have changed the binding glue so that issue should not resurface.
We would be happy to send you a copy. Please provide your address.
Thank you for your support.

They could use the opportunity to send me also a VISIONAIRE, I’d love to receive one! :P

Lele

Lele Acquarone is the name behind “the scrapbook” section in Vogue Italy, one of the Vogues worth to buy it every month.

I find her illustrations very cute and beautiful. I loved when she did the ones for Balenciaga s/s 2008, the last season fever!

I wish she could make something for the blog, it would be nice, hm?

By the way, the last issue, the black one, is out already but I didn’t have the time to go and buy it.

And I’m sort of stocking all this month’s magazines to read during my 15 days vacation time I’m spending in Brazil, to begin next week!

Yay! Can’t wait!

It seems obvious but apparently someone has to say it (at least in Italy): “Do wear pants”

pant-less guy vs levi\'s 501

pant-less guy basta!

I witnessed this last Saturday and he justified by saying his briefs were D&G. Grrr!

Am I a racist if I can’t stand guys without pants? I’m sure Heidi Klum has ever seen something like this.

I bought my ticket today! Yay! MGMT in Milan next Monday, can’t wait!

Fashion bind

It’s well known that women go through not very pleasant things during life to look their best, and getting waxed is just one example.

Well, that’s not really a recent concept; the difference today is that we are learning to do so for ourselves, and trying as hard as possible not to feel any pain.
In ancient China things we’re much different though, and bound feet were a must have at the time. No woman would want to have her feet bigger than, let’s say, 5 inches (12.7 cm). So since their very early ages little girls would have their feet wrapped and bones broken, all in order to keep them small, walk in short steps and look vulnerable and sexy to men’s eyes.

We all know that concerning fashion and its aesthetics, old ideas and styles are constantly being recycled and reborn, specially when talking about revolutionary and innovative ages.

And, believe it, this one tradition was brought back from China to Japan, where girls are tolerating the pain to go out with those heels.

OK, you don’t have to break any bones to wear those shoes, but that might happen if you dare fall when on such heels, hm?

P.S.: Thanks to Doshka and Kika for all the info and help!
